Kent Wedding Photographer

At a wedding I am always on the look out for real emotion, that interaction between people who truly love each other is something truly special. Those moments are often fleeting but also some of the most important. Over time, as the years pass, photos like these will help you remember how your wedding day really felt. Each photo is a time capsule, preserving a moment and the people in it forever.

A Hug From Nan

This was probably my favourite photo from this wedding. It’s not the sharpest and it’s not that well composed but that doesn’t matter. What matters is the moment. This moment captures Nan and the Bride’s clear love for each other. You can see this love in Nan’s eyes as she is overwhelmed by happiness and by how tight she is hugging her granddaughter.

The photo also tells a little more of the story of this particular wedding day, as you can see a few guests in the background putting up their umbrellas.

As a photographer in the digital age it’s easy to get caught up on a photo needing to be technically “perfect.” In the hustle and bustle of a wedding day, not everything is perfect, unless you are going to pose everything and that’s not my style of photography. All a photo needs is to simply be important to the couple, a visual memory they can look back on and feel what they felt in that moment.
