Wedding Photography The Vines In Rochester

The Vines is situated just one or two minutes on foot from Rochester castle and Cathedral. The building itself was formally The Old Archdeaconry and originally built in 1661. The history of the site goes a lot further back, In around the year 600, Ethelbert, King of Kent, was instructed by St. Augustine to build a church and monastery at Rochester in honour of St. Andrew. The site became known as The Vines because this is where the monks of the Priory were granted land to have their vineyard.

Today the Vines is a fabulous wedding venue, I always enjoy working at the vines, not only is it a great venue but the staff are also fantastic, and that makes a big difference on a wedding day.

Favourite Photograph

As a father myself I always find the first look a very special moment. I tend to stand behind the bride so that they can enjoy the moment without me being in the way, but so that I can still capture the reaction of dad as he enters the room. I particularly like this photo not only for the amazing reaction from the father of the bride but I was also able to capture the bride's reaction in the tall mirror.

This was almost my favourite photograph from this wedding. The moment was captured as we walked back from doing a few bride and groom posed photos near the castle. I normally drop back so the couple can walk ahead and have a bit of time alone. This also means I can keep an eye out for nice candid moments like this.
