Wedding Photography at the Orangery in Maidstone
The Orangery is a fabulous wedding venue in Maidstone Kent set on the site of an old Paper Mill. The beautiful gardens and building make a fabulous back drop for a wedding day with a choice of several outdoor and indoor spots to have your wedding ceremony. This is one of my favourite wedding venues in Kent.
An absolutely fabulous wedding day with one of the most friendly and polite couples that I have ever photographed. They even brought their best friend along, a beautiful dog called Autumn, who you can see in the photos below.
My Favourite Photograph
I like everything about this wedding photograph. It is a wonderful moment as the couple walked onto the dance floor for their first dance. You can clearly see how happy and how in love they are. Every guest in the background were watching intently, which is not always the case! You can see Nan, with her hands together, looking extremely happy and proud of the couple.
Bride & Groom Photos
Over the day I primarily work candidly, staying out of the way so the day can naturally tick along without me getting in the way. The only exception is during the group photos and bride & groom photos, during these times I will ensure guests and the couple are positioned nicely for their photos. The Orangery is blessed to have this wonderful wisteria arch around one of their doors which is the perfect spot for a posed photo.
In the video below you can see photos of the beautiful purple wisteria in the arch but I really love this black and white version with the dress flowing down the steps.
Looking For Beautiful Moments
I am always looking out for little moments that will fly by and hardly be noticed by most people. Towards the end of the wedding ceremony the couple were asked to stand to one side while the witness signed the wedding documents. This happens at most weddings and is always the first time the couple have together since saying "I Do". You can see and really feel the happiness on the Groom's face in this moment.
