Wedding in your Garden
As a full time wedding photographer I have photographed lots of weddings on rainy days. Living in England we seem to have lots of wet days, so these rainy day weddings are normally held indoors. This was the first time I have shot a wedding with an umbrella in one hand and a camera in the other and it was actually great fun.
This beautiful wedding took place at the Bride's parents home in a village just outside of Faversham, Kent. This beautiful home was turned into a wonderful wedding venue for the day. The whole day felt perfect except for the great british weather. Being August (2024) you would hope for some sunshine but the rain did not shift all morning, until finally departing after the ceremony. That did not stop the happy couple from having the day as they wanted it. With the guests sat safe and dry under a large gazebo and the couple along with the celebrant under a small gazebo the ceremony went ahead in the rain. The couple were full of smiles and happiness. It was perfect. I worked as normal, quietly moving around between the two gazebos, juggling an umbrella in one hand and camera in the other.
The couple were absolutely fantastic and had a great wedding day, as you can see from the selection of wedding photos below.
My Favourite Photograph
My favourite wedding photographs have the energy and real emotion of the day in them. This photograph has exactly that. This beautiful moment took place just after the wedding ceremony. With the Bride still under the small gazebo in the dry, Nan came up and gave her this loving hug. Look at the way Nan really squeezes her granddaughter in tightly and even though part of Nans face is hidden her eyes tell you she is very happy. I can really feel the happiness and love in this moment everytime I look at the photograph.
Confetti In The Rain
Another of my favourite wedding photographs. Just after the ceremony and shortly before the rain stopped, the couple, full of smiles, walked the confetti line. The rain and umbrellas make this such a unique moment to this couples wedding day.
Candid Wedding Moments
Another beautiful hug from Nan. Moments like this flash by in a instant and unless photographed are easily forgotten. This one photo really helps tell the story of this couple's wedding day. We can see the location of the wedding on the house plaque, the weather represented by the umbrellas. The love Nan and the Bride have for each other is clear and we see the groom is a genuinely kind hearted person as he is holding his umbrella over Nan while he is getting rained on.
