Wedding Photography at Chapel House Estate

There’s something truly special about photographing an early summer wedding at Chapel House Estate in Minster, just outside Ramsgate. Nestled in the Kent countryside, this luxury venue set around a Grade II listed 13th-century manor on a 35 acre estate is truly a fabulous place to have your wedding.

Chapel House is a venue that effortlessly balances elegance and comfort. It allows weddings to feel stylish without ever losing warmth, and that’s exactly what this day was. A relaxed, joy-filled summer celebration. The ceremony took place in the Old Malt Granary with the afternoon sun shining through one of the upper windows straight onto the bride. The reception took place in the stunning Thorne Barn.

The day was a beautiful fun filled one, with a lot of laughter and some happy tears.

Favourite Photo

This is probably my favourite photo from the whole day, it's a simple photo but one that captures a special moment for the bride. This is the moment the brides brothers saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. You can see the raw emotion on the first brothers face as he try to hold back his happy tears. This was a truly beautiful moment just before both of the brothers walked their sister down the aisle together.

Creative Light

At times during the ceremony a cloud would pass and the sun would fall straight through a window and only illuminate the brides arm while casting the groom into shadow. This creates quite the challenge to photograph in, obviously you cannot stop a wedding to move the couple so during the moments when this happened I used the light to capture some creative photos.

Important Moments

This is a simple photo but one that tells a story full of meaning for the couple. The gentleman in the photo is the brides father who sadly passed away before the wedding. It was very important to the couple that his photo was there for the day, so I made sure that I captured him in their photos.

The photo in the frame is one that I took at the brides brothers wedding a few years before.
