Some weddings invite the children and some do not, in my opinion children can often make a wedding a wonderfully fun event, they can also make the best fun photos. My own daughter who has only been to one wedding back when she was 3 was so excited to go, see the bride, the cake (eat the cake) and to go to the party. Almost every week I at a wedding and every week the people who always are relaxed, happy and have a great time are the page boys, flower girls, the children.
